| quotes to remember..
"I think Leviticus is more interesting than Chronicles." "I'm zooming again, please pray that I won't read the Bible so quickly." "Please pray that I won't read so much just to get ahead of someone else."
time spent with my small group girls is really encouraging and humbling at the same time. these 7th and 8th grade girls are excited about the Word, and their requests contrast the usual- please pray for me to read the Bible more.
may we have such thirst and fervor.
| on sat night i prayed for friends and pastors sharing on sunday in various places. on sunday morning i prayed for them again and thought.. i don't have any responsibilities today. i can relax. i sat listening to the choir practice and took out my bible. then, the pastor passed by and asked me for a favor. i said, "sure." in my mind i was thinking, he's going to ask me to pray for communion, but he didn't. he asked me to read a few verses. great!-even easier! so i prayed, opened my bible, and read over the verses. then, the pastor came over again and asked..can you be the Chinese-English translator today? o my! i said, "sure, though some technical words may be difficult for me to translate." he went over the outline with me, and next thing you know.. it was time to go up! yeah. so i learned.. ALWAYS BE READY! i was thankful it wasn't the second coming , cause it reminded me about the virgins waiting for the bridegroom, and i was just chilling, thinking.. i can relax today. i'm thankful for his grace. translating went well. alleluia. | | |
| I just wanted to type up a little something related to what we talked about at snack and chat. Re: satisfaction in life & success
“What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them dung, that I may gain Christ” Philippians 3:8
yup. DUNG. This man had a lot going for him, yet none of what he had could compare to knowing Christ. We can know facts about Jesus, or we can know Jesus. We often seek temporal things, but the satisfaction only lasts for a time. Until we seek and know Jesus, then we will be truly satisfied –and with Him, we will be satisfied eternally.
here are some truths to help you through this year:
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5,6
“ Cast all your anxiety on Him because he cares for you.” 1Peter 5:7
“Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?...But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:27, 33-34
Senior year.. make the most of it. Live with no regrets. Fun times.
